Lifetime plans have been one of Magic Pages' most popular options since launch. You pay once, you're set – no renewals. That's a promise Magic Pages takes seriously.
But running a hosting platform means thinking long-term. Every lifetime site is one I'm committed to keeping online, maintained, and performant for as long as the owner wants it. That only works if the platform underneath stays financially healthy – and a healthy platform needs predictable recurring revenue to fund ongoing development, infrastructure improvements, and growing the team.
What's Changing
Until now, Magic Pages released a fixed number of lifetime plan slots each month – 10, regardless of how the platform was doing. That number was picked when we had far fewer sites and hasn't been revisited since.
Starting on March 1, 2026, lifetime availability is calculated dynamically based on the actual health of the platform. Instead of a static number, the system now considers the balance between lifetime and subscription sites, along with overall revenue health, to determine how many new lifetime slots to make available each month.
While most Magic Pages sites run on monthly or annual subscriptions, a growing number of customers have chosen lifetime plans over the years. I'm proud of that – it means people trusted me with a one-time payment, and Magic Pages kept that promise. But to keep growing Magic Pages responsibly, I need to make sure recurring revenue stays the foundation.
In practice, this means availability will likely be lower than what you're used to seeing. Lifetime plans aren't going away, but they're becoming more limited than before.
