How it works
Three steps, and only the first one is yours.
You buy it
Choose a length, give us their email address, and add a note if you'd like one to go with it. You don't need a Magic Pages account, and you don't have to pick their web address.
They get an email
It tells them who it's from, with your note, and takes them to a page where they choose their own address. A code goes to their inbox to confirm it's them — so a forwarded link doesn't hand your gift to somebody else.
The site gets built
A few minutes later it's live, and we email them a link to their admin panel. From then on it's theirs: hosting, updates, backups and support all handled by us.
They have 90 days to claim it. If life gets in the way and they don't, the money isn't gone — reply to your receipt and we'll either refund you or send the gift again.
Handing someone a bill isn't a gift
So we built the whole thing around what the person receiving it doesn't have to deal with.
No price, anywhere
Their portal doesn't show what the site costs. It says the site was gifted, and who it came from. That's it.
No card to hand over
Claiming it takes their email address and a name for the site. No payment details, and no subscription created in their name.
Their address, their call
You can't choose their web address, on purpose. They pick it when they claim the gift, and can put their own domain on it later.
What they actually get
The Pro plan, exactly as a paying customer gets it. Nothing about it is a trial, and nothing is held back because it was a gift.
And when the time runs out
Two weeks before the end we email them, and again three days before. If they want to carry on, they add a card and keep going at the normal price.
If they'd rather not, the site is locked rather than deleted. Their posts, images and subscribers stay exactly where they are, so nothing is lost and they can pick it up later. Nothing is charged to you, and nothing is charged to them unless they choose it.
A lifetime gift skips all of that
There's no term to run out, no warning emails, and no card request ever. The site is simply theirs.

Questions you might have
No. There are no prices in their portal at all, and no invoice goes to them. It says the site was gifted and who by, plus your note if you wrote one. Your receipt comes to you.
No, and most aren't. Claiming a gift creates a brand new site for them from scratch. All they need is an email address they can read.
Email help@magicpages.co before they claim it, and we'll put the gift on the site they already run instead of creating a second one. Paying off someone's hosting bill is a perfectly good present — it just needs us to move it across by hand.
No, and that's deliberate. They choose it when they claim the gift, which saves you guessing at a name they'd have to live with. It starts as a free .mymagic.page address, and they can point their own domain at it whenever they like.
The link works for 90 days. After that it stops, but the gift isn't written off — you paid for it, so reply to your receipt and we'll either refund you or send it again to a different address.
No. A gift is one payment for a fixed length of time, not a subscription with your card on it. When the time is up, the decision about carrying on is theirs and the bill would be theirs too.
Yes — buy them one at a time, each with its own recipient. There's a limit of fifteen gifts a month per buyer, which exists to stop people mass-creating sites rather than to get in your way. If you need more than that, email us and we'll arrange it.
Not always. We only take on a set number of lifetime sites each month, because we host them forever and that has to stay sustainable. Gifts draw on the same pool as everyone else, so if this month is full, the lifetime option disappears until the 1st.
