Writer Justin Cox once told readers to stop hunting for the perfect writing app. Then he built one with Claude: em, a Markdown editor that publishes to Ghost. Jannis and Justin talk owning your domain, lost drafts, on-device AI as an editor, not a ghostwriter, and choosing your own line on AI.

Austin Burdine built Ghost CLI as an open source contributor, joined Ghost's platform team ten years later, and one of his first jobs is to retire his creation. Jannis and Austin talk Docker, technical debt, getting a PR reviewed, AI-found security bugs, and what Ghost 7.0 is meant to fix.
Jannis, Mariia and Christine sit in one room and unpack the weekend Magic Pages spent at Indiecon, the independent publishing festival in Hamburg: the booth that politely confused people, the workshops, the little magazine, and why the answer to community is doing things that don't scale.
Jannis sits down with his competitor and friend, Murat Çorlu of Synaps Media − a calmer, deliberately small managed Ghost host. They talk growing the Ghost market instead of fighting over it, the theme editor Murat open-sourced (Ghost later shipped its own), i18n gaps, and hosting solo.
André, founder of PayGlue, joins Jannis on connecting Ghost memberships to Stripe alternatives — Polar, Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, Creem and more. Merchant-of-record tax, a replaceable paywall, pay-what-you-want, trust through open source, and why sustainable tools skip the free tier.
Mark Alexander − the Melbourne writer behind Tech That Fits − joins Jannis on judging gadgets by whether they earn their place in a small home, choosing Ghost over Webflow and WordPress, building a first custom theme with Fantasma, and reaching readers via Google and Apple News.
Why is Magic Pages, a Ghost hosting company, sponsoring IndieCon — an independent print festival in Hamburg? A solo episode on the shared fight for ownership, what we're bringing (a Ghost workshop, a small magazine, a dinner), and how you can win a ticket.
Chris Emunds — the solo developer behind Vellumine, an advanced search and analytics platform for Ghost — joins Jannis to talk about closing the gaps in Ghost's SodoSearch, semantic search with local LLMs, and why treating your day job as a superpower is the honest path to bootstrapping software.
Magic Pages' very first customer, Christine Trac, joins Jannis for the podcast's first in-person recording. They talk Twitter beginnings, Ghost vs Wix, life in Austria, and the email-deliverability tools small senders actually need.
No script, no slides − just Jannis and the whole team, Mariia & Sviatoslav, on one deceptively simple question: What is Magic Pages? Support that isn't a ticket queue, being a “translator” for Ghost, and the people we actually build for.
