Since 19 June 2026, anyone who sells online to consumers in the EU has to let them withdraw online too, through a clearly labelled link and a confirm button. In Germany, readers also need a way to cancel a subscription online. If you sell paid memberships through Ghost, that probably includes you.
Your site can now have withdrawal and cancellation pages. They live on your own domain, look like the rest of your site, and send every request straight to you.

Why we built it
Ghost lets a signed-in member cancel at the end of their billing period. It has no way to withdraw, no labelled link for it, and so no receipt with the date and time either. Those are the parts the new rules describe.
A contact form doesn't close that gap. You'd still have to find out which membership a request is about, keep a record of when it came in, and make sure none of them slips through before the reader is charged again.
What you can do
You switch the pages on in your customer portal under Configuration → EU consumer law, pick their addresses, and add the link to your site's navigation.
Your readers don't need to log in. They fill in their name, email address and plan, and confirm. A cancellation can be ordinary, at the end of the period, or extraordinary, for good cause. Either way, they see when we received it and get a receipt by email in your site's name.

We take your logo, accent colour and fonts from your site, and you can change a colour if it doesn't work on the page. The pages come in English and German for now, and we're adding more languages. You can change the wording, except for the four labels the law sets.
You get an email for every request, and it shows up in your customer portal, matched to a member by email address. Each one tells you what to do next, with buttons straight to the subscription in Stripe or the member in Ghost Admin. The list is sorted by next billing date. If a request is still open after 3 days, or the reader is about to be charged again, we remind you.

What it doesn't do
We don't cancel subscriptions, refund payments or reply to your readers. That stays with you, in Ghost Admin or Stripe, and you mark each request handled when you're done.
The pages follow our reading of the rules. That isn't legal advice, and whether they meet the requirements for your site is up to you.
